Viola Beggs
Services for Viola Beggs, 82, of 202 East Park Street, Lamar, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Howe will officiate with interment in the Fairmount Cemetery.
Mrs. Beggs died at Sandhaven Nursing Home on August 29, 1983. She was born in Illinois on September 12, 1900. She moved to the Lamar area in 1905. She was a hairdresser and housewife.
Viola was married to Floyd Stephens on March 13, 1920 in Wiley. Floyd preceded her in death in 1952. She married Dr. S.W. Beggs in 1957 in Lamar. Dr. Beggs preceded Viola in death in 1959.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, ABW Circle of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Stephens of Northglenn and Donald Stephens of Lakewood; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Wood-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the final arrangements.
