William Esgar or Isgar

1Pat Hase, email - ESGAR/ISGAR at East Brent , Somerset & Dorset FHS marriage index .
"Hi Clay,
Enjoyed your web page found through the Rooksbridge site.
My husband's 6 x great grandfather is William ISGAR (ESGAR?)
From your web page -
William Esgar was born in 1697 in Whitehouse, East Brent, Somerset, England. He died in Mar 1719. He was buried in St Mary's Cem., East Brent, Somerset, England. He married Mrs. May Esgar.
I believe that I have found his marriage - courtesy of the Somerset & Dorset FHS marriage index
" William ISGAR of E Brent, Bride Mary EDWARDS of S Brent, married on 22 MAY 1716 at parish Cossington "
The name Mary can often be misread as May and the dates all fit beautifully but why Cossington - it's anybody's guess.
My husband's line comes down through Robert & Jane through their youngest daughter, Mary born in 1761 who married a John EDWARDS on 21 March 1782 at East Brent Parish Church, Somerset.
There might be a connection between the EDWARDS?
Hope you find this interesting.
