Sharon L. Esgar Sharon L. Esgar, 62, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Yuma Regional Medical Center. She was born in Pratt, Kansas on August 8, 1942. She attended Yuma schools and graduated from Yuma High School in 1960 and Casper College in Casper, Wyoming in 1962.She married R. William Payne on August 3, 1963 and lived in various places before moving back to Yuma. She married Roger H. Esgar on March 24, 1984 and has remained in Yuma since, except for her summers in Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Roger H. Esgar of the home, two sons, Mark W. (Kari) Payne of Denver, Colorado and Patrick L. (Rachel) Payne of Las Cruces, New Mexico; step-daughters, Mary Lynn Dunny and Linda (John) Carroll; sister, Willene (Chuck) Williams; brother, William A. (Marie) Evans. She is also survived by 4 step-grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, F. Willard Evans and Opal (Beal) Evans. Funeral services are Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Methodist Church with Reverend Randa L. Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s name to Trinity United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be John Carroll, Chet Dunny, Walter Spencer, Aubrey Warner, Gary Foy, and Thad McCloud.

Peter Stevens married Susanna Esgar of East Brent 28 May 1845 at the East Brent
St. Mary's Church. Susanna, Peter Stevens wife died Sept 18, 1850, leaving
Peter with 2 small daughters, Mary Ann Esgar Stevens and Susanna Sarah Stevens
to raise. Susanna Sarah died July 17, 1852. Peter's father-in-law (John Esgar
died December 28, 1852 and his mother-in-law (Susannah Esgar) moved into Peter
Stevens' home to take care of her only Grand daughter, (Mary Ann Esgar Stevens).

Susanna Esgar was born at the Whitehouse farm and moved with the family
to the farm her father (John) purchased in 1840. Peter Stevens of South Brent
courted and married her May 28, 1845. Their first child was named Mary Ann
Esgar Stevens. Their second child (Susanna Sarah Stevens) was born September
17, 1850 and Susanna Stevens died September 18, 1850, the next day from
childbirth.
