It cointains 259 souls and 863 acresof fertile and well wooded soil. P.P. Mannock Esq. is Lord of the Manorbut a great part of the soil belongs to Mrs. Stuttler, Mrs Dawson andA.C. Reeve Esq. who have neat houses finely shaded with trees. St Mary'sChurch has a tower and 6 bells. In the riegn of Charles Ist ThomasBedfield charged his house and land with yearly payments of 10/- 00 tothe minister.
